Sanwo-Olu Confirms No Pension Arrears in Lagos State

On a recent visit, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu reaffirmed that the state does not have any pension arrears, highlighting his administration's commitment to the welfare of retirees. In a statement issued on Monday by his special adviser on media and public affairs, Gbenga Akosile, Sanwo-Olu emphasized that the administration holds pensions in high esteem and will continue to treat retirees with dignity, fairness, and equity.

He noted that there have been no outstanding pension liabilities for the past three years, and all retirees who complete their documentation will begin receiving their benefits within two to three months after exiting service. The governor pledged ongoing support for the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) to enhance the welfare of pensioners in Lagos.

Tolulop Odunaiya, the director of PTAD, expressed the need to strengthen the working relationship with the Lagos State Government, as nearly 200,000 pensioners nationwide seek fair and dignified access to their benefits.
