Lagos Government Halts Lekki-Epe Expressway Rehabilitation to Ease Christmas Traffic

The Lagos State Government has temporarily suspended the rehabilitation of the Lekki-Epe Expressway from Admiralty Junction to Jubilee Bridge in Ajah to alleviate traffic congestion during the festive season. The decision aims to reduce travel delays, preserve valuable man-hours, and ensure smoother movement for residents and motorists.

The government plans to resume the project in mid-January 2026, introducing enhanced traffic management measures. Special Adviser to the Governor on Infrastructure, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, and Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) officials were involved in the announcement.
