Lagos State to Deploy Drones for Enhanced Security

The Lagos State Government has unveiled a plan to deploy surveillance drones to bolster security across the state, partnering with the Nigerian Air Force and Nigeria Police. Mr. Ayodel Ogunsan, the Chief Executive Officer of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund, disclosed this initiative during a press briefing on Monday, marking his first 100 days in office.

The initiative aims to enhance aerial monitoring, improve rapid response to security threats, and strengthen intelligence gathering in Nigeria's commercial hub. The Lagos State Security Trust Fund plans to sign a memorandum of understanding with the Nigerian Air Force and Nigeria Police Air Wing to coordinate security operations across Lagos.

This collaboration will involve deploying unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), commonly known as drones, to significantly expand surveillance coverage and enhance intelligence collection. Ogunsan also reviewed achievements within his first 100 days, noting the strengthening of the trust fund's financial base and the deployment of 80 new operational patrol vehicles expected within the month.
