Lagos Commends Alimosho Residents for Sanitation Efforts

On Saturday, the Lagos State Government, represented by Commissioner for Environment Tokunbo Wahab, praised residents of Alimosho Local Government for their compliance with the monthly environmental sanitation exercise. Wahab noted the area's commitment to cleanliness, despite challenges with waste collection by Private Sector Participants (PSPs).

Residents expressed concerns about irregular waste collection, with some stating that waste often remains uncollected. In response, the government acknowledged these challenges and revealed plans to engage additional contractors to enhance waste collection services.

Wahab, alongside First Lady Ibijok Sanwo-Olu, encouraged residents to maintain cleanliness and reiterated the government's commitment to reintroducing monthly sanitation exercises, emphasizing that public holidays should not disrupt these initiatives. The government also plans to address flooding concerns in Alimosho, particularly around Akowonjo, by assessing drainage systems and ensuring proper waste disposal.
