Lagos Labour Leader Michael Domingo Dies in Geneva

Michael Domingo, the chairman of the Lagos State Joint Negotiation Council, died unexpectedly while attending the 114th session of the International Labour Conference in Geneva, Switzerland. Reports indicate that he fell ill during the conference and was rushed to a hospital in Annemasse, France, where he subsequently passed away.

Bode Agoro, head of service for the Lagos State government, described Domingo's death as a painful loss and extended condolences to his family, colleagues, and the labor movement. Agoro emphasized Domingo's dedication as a unionist, highlighting his commitment to advancing the welfare and rights of workers throughout his career.

The Nigeria Labour Congress confirmed the news of Domingo's death, calling it a major loss for the labor movement. Agn Sessia, Lagos State chairman, expressed shock and respect for Domingo, noting the significant impact of his passing on the labor community.
