Oba Olufolarin Ogunsanwo Appointed LASU Chancellor

Dr. Akinyel Oladeji, the chief of Ilara Kingdom in Lagos State, commended the appointment of Oba Olufolarin Ogunsanwo as the sixth Chancellor of Lagos State University (LASU).

In a statement made on Sunday, Oladeji described the appointment as well-deserved, highlighting the monarch's exemplary leadership, character, and commitment to advancing education and cultural community development. He noted that Ogunsanwo's reign would be marked by wisdom, dignity, and progress, which would undoubtedly enrich the academic and moral standards of the university.

Oladeji expressed confidence that under Ogunsanwo's guidance, LASU would continue to flourish as a citadel of excellence and innovation. The new Chancellor's appointment, which follows the tenure of Gbolahan Elia, was disclosed in a statement issued by the Registrar of the university, Emmanuel Fanu.

The appointment is effective from February 13, 2026, and is for a single term of five years, with the possibility of renewal.
