Gbagada Auto Crash Claims One Life, Injures Six Others

A tragic road traffic accident occurred in Gbagada, Lagos, resulting in the death of a female passenger and injuries to six others. The incident involved a Volkswagen commercial bus with registration number LSD 654 XY, which reportedly lost control and violently rammed into a roadside culvert along the Oworonshoki-Apapa Expressway.

The impact ejected the female passenger from the vehicle, leading to her immediate death. Six occupants, including the driver, sustained severe injuries, including multiple fractures.

An articulated trailer approaching the scene could not avoid the fallen passenger, exacerbating the situation. The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), led by Adebayo Taofiq, responded promptly to restore normal traffic flow and manage the scene.

The driver of the trailer fled the scene immediately after the incident. Emergency services, including the Lagos State Ambulance Service, evacuated the injured for urgent medical treatment.

LASTMA's Olalekan Bakar Oki expressed condolences to the deceased's family and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
