One Dead, Six Injured in Lagos Traffic Accident

A tragic traffic accident on the Apapa Expressway in Lagos resulted in one fatality and six injuries. The incident occurred when a Volkswagen commercial bus, registered as LSD 654 XY, lost control and crashed into a roadside culvert, causing a female passenger to be ejected onto the expressway.

She was subsequently struck by an oncoming articulated truck, leading to her death at the scene. The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), represented by Olalekan Bakar Oki, confirmed the incident and stated that the driver of the articulated truck fled the scene.

Emergency services, including the Lagos State Ambulance Service, quickly responded to the scene, evacuating the six injured victims, who sustained various degrees of injuries, including a fractured leg. The area was cordoned off to prevent further accidents, and the remains of the deceased were respectfully evacuated.

Bakar Oki expressed condolences to the family of the deceased passenger.
