Lagos PDP Criticizes Wike Over Comments on George

The Lagos State chapter of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) has responded critically to comments made by Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, regarding High Chief Olabode George, the former Deputy National Chairman of the party. Wike claimed he had no regrets about blocking George's aspiration to become the national chairman, which Prince Dr Christopher Odianarewo, the party’s spokesman, described as an attempt to distort party history and diminish George's contributions.

Odianarewo clarified that George voluntarily stepped down for the sake of fairness, zoning, and party unity. He questioned Wike's need to visit George's residence after the party's convention if George was as politically irrelevant as Wike suggested.

The Lagos PDP also rejected Wike's attribution of the party's electoral setbacks to George, asserting that the PDP has maintained representation in various political offices in Lagos since 1999. The party advised Wike to focus on his responsibilities as FCT minister and allow Lagos to manage its political affairs.
