Bode George Denies Wike's Corruption Claims, Threatens Lawsuit

Bode George, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party's Board of Trustees, has refuted claims made by Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, that his residence in Maitama, Abuja, was financed with funds from Rivers State. During a media chat, Wike labeled George as the "father of corruption" and demanded an explanation regarding the source of funds for the property.

In response, George described Wike's allegations as the remarks of someone in need of psychiatric help and stated that he purchased the house from a retired civil servant, not built it. He criticized Wike's behavior as immature and unfit for public office, asserting that he would pursue legal action against Wike for defamation.

George also expressed that Wike's estrangement from his father disqualifies him from commenting on corruption. This exchange is part of an ongoing feud between the two PDP leaders amid a leadership crisis within the party.
