Lagos PDP Critiques APC Governance, Warns of One-Party System

The Lagos State chapter of the People Democratic Party (PDP), through its chairmen forum led by Aderounmu Wasiu Adeyemi, has issued a warning against the emergence of a one-party system in Nigeria, criticizing the governance of the All Progressives Congress (APC). The forum emphasized the importance of a multi-party system to ensure accountability and inclusivity in leadership.

They expressed concerns over the recent urban renewal initiatives by the Lagos State government, particularly the demolition of waterfront communities, which they described as a humanitarian issue requiring urgent intervention. The group also highlighted worsening living conditions, challenges in healthcare delivery, and rising insecurity, including cult-related violence and kidnappings.

The PDP leaders called for greater unity among opposition parties to present a credible alternative to the current administration and restore public confidence. They condemned the APC-led administration for failing to meet citizens' expectations across various sectors, warning against the risks of drifting towards authoritarian rule.
