PDP Urges Resistance Against One-Party State in Nigeria

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State, represented by the chairman of the forum, Chief Aderounmu Adeyemi, held a press conference on Friday to address concerns regarding the political landscape in Nigeria. They urged Nigerians to resist any attempts by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to establish a one-party state, which they argue is fundamentally incompatible with democratic ideals and could lead to authoritarianism and dictatorship.

The PDP condemned the demolition of the Makoko riverine community, highlighting the lack of adequate notice and the severe hardships faced by residents. They criticized the APC-led administration for its failure to address critical sectors such as the economy, security, and public welfare, stating that citizens feel alienated in their own land.

The forum also expressed concern over inadequate access to quality healthcare in underserved areas, reaffirming their loyalty to the leadership of Dr. Amo Fawol and Dr. Tanimu Turaki.
