Lagos Expands Fire Safety Infrastructure with New Stations

The Lagos State government, led by Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, has announced plans to expand fire safety infrastructure across the state by adding new fire stations. This initiative is part of a recent commissioning project aimed at improving public safety, which was unveiled during a two-day commissioning program held on April 8 and April 9, 2026.

The project includes the addition of a new fire station at the Tolu School Complex located in Olodi Apapa, Ajeromi Ifelodun Local Government Area, which comprises 36 schools, a modern fire station, and a stadium with 19 mini football pitches. The new fire station reflects the government's commitment to protecting lives and property while supporting community growth.

Margaret Adesey, the General Controller of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, commended the government's continuous investment in safety infrastructure, noting that the new fire station will enhance emergency response, especially in heavily populated areas. This addition will increase the number of fire stations operated by the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service to 25, marking the 11th fire station delivered by the current administration.
