Lagos Police Arrest Two Suspected Armed Robbers

Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command, in collaboration with a local vigilante group, arrested two suspected armed robbers, Arowolo Damilola, 32, and Adewale Adeyinka, 29, during a routine crime prevention patrol in the Odogunyan area of Lagos State. The arrest occurred when the suspects attempted to flee upon sighting the joint security team.

A search of their handbag led to the recovery of a locally made cut-to-size Dane gun and three live cartridges. The Command’s spokesperson, SP Abimbola Adebisi, confirmed that the suspects are currently in custody and assisting investigators.

They will be charged to court after the investigation concludes. Commissioner of Police Tijani Fatai commended the operatives and vigilante members for their effective collaboration and reiterated the Command’s commitment to public safety.

He warned criminals against unlawful activities and encouraged residents to report suspicious activities through emergency response lines, assuring confidentiality for all information received.
