Police Arrest Two Armed Robbers in Lagos, Recover Gun

The Lagos State Police Command, in collaboration with a local vigilante group, arrested two suspected armed robbers, Arowolo Damilola, 32, and Adewale Adeyinka, 29, during a crime prevention patrol in the Odogunyan area of Lagos. The arrest occurred when the suspects attempted to flee upon noticing the security team.

A search of their handbag revealed a locally made cut-to-size Dane gun and three live cartridges. Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, confirmed the details in a statement released on Tuesday.

The suspects are currently in police custody and are assisting with ongoing investigations before being charged to court. Commissioner of Police Tijani Fatai commended the operatives and the local vigilante group for their vigilance and cooperation, emphasizing the command's commitment to ensuring the safety of Lagos residents and warning criminals to refrain from illegal activities.
