Lagos Police Arrest Four Suspected Armed Robbers

The Lagos State Police Command arrested four suspected members of a criminal gang linked to recent killings, armed robbery, and cult-related activities in the Ajah axis on August 12, 2026. The suspects, identified as Kareem Abiodun (26), Tansiru Emmanuel (29), Lateef Usman (28), and Alashe Azeez (32), were apprehended during follow-up operations related to a robbery case.

The police recovered three locally made pistols, one live ammunition, two battle axes, and a Point-of-Sale (POS) machine from the suspects. Preliminary investigations indicated their involvement in robbery activities around Ajah, Sangotedo, and Ibeju-Lekki.

The suspects made confessional statements regarding their participation in armed robbery, murder, and cult activities. They remain in police custody and are assisting with ongoing investigations, while efforts continue to apprehend other gang members.

Commissioner of Police Tijani Fatai commended the operatives for their efforts and emphasized the need for sustained intelligence-led operations against criminal networks.
