Lagos Police Arrest 47 in Major Crime Crackdown

The Lagos State Police Command reported significant success in a recent crime crackdown, resulting in the arrest of 47 suspects and the recovery of 14 firearms, including locally made pistols and a pump-action gun. The operation, which took place across the state, was highlighted by State Commissioner of Police Tijani Olayiwola Fatai during a press briefing at the command headquarters in Ikeja.

The police also recovered a dozen live ammunition, 14 vehicles, laptops, and mobile phones linked to criminal activities. Notable operations included the arrest of armed robbery suspects in the Amukoko area, where a local-made pistol and cartridges were seized.

Additionally, a 23-year-old alleged cultist linked to the Aiy confraternity was apprehended in Ajegunle, and 21 suspects were arrested during a raid at a hotel where cult members were gathered. The police emphasized ongoing efforts to apprehend identified key figures within these criminal groups.
