Lagos School Suspends Classes to Honor Slain NURTW Leader

The Great Josad School in Fadeyi, Lagos, temporarily suspended classes on Tuesday to honor Toba Ajiboy, the slain secretary of the Lagos State chapter of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW). The school displayed a banner at its entrance featuring Ajiboy's photograph and an obituary message, announcing the closure to respect the late union leader.

Ajiboy was fatally shot by unidentified gunmen in an attack on his vehicle in the Fadeyi area on Sunday evening. Following the incident, the Lagos State Police Command launched a manhunt for the assailants.

Abimbola Adebisi, the police public relations officer, confirmed that investigations are ongoing. Ajiboy was reportedly visiting a childhood friend when the attack occurred.

Three other individuals in his vehicle sustained gunshot wounds and are in serious condition. Mustapha Adekunle, the chairman of the Lagos State NURTW, expressed deep sorrow over Ajiboy's death, describing him as a loyal ally and a steadfast friend.
