LASU Graduate Sylvester Agose Achieves First Class Honours

Sylvester Agose graduated from Lagos State University (LASU) with First Class Honours in Aerospace Engineering, achieving a grade point average of 4.50 out of 5.0 after five years of study at the Epe campus. In August 2026, he shared his university journey on LinkedIn, highlighting his experiences beyond academics.

Agose founded and led Space Clubs LASU, a community focused on space science and engineering, and served in student leadership through the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) LASU Student Chapter, which received recognition as a Regional Outstanding Student Chapter during his tenure. He was also active in the Nigerian Federation of Catholic Students (NFCS) at the LASU Epe chapter, which he credited for shaping his character.

For his final-year project, Agose researched spacecraft structures and locally sourced materials, focusing on a CubeSat qualification model relevant to Nigeria's interest in space. His involvement included conferences, hackathons, mentorship programs, and internships, which he stated were pivotal in developing his leadership and resilience.
