Sanwo-Olu Urges LASU Graduands to Impact Society

On Wednesday, Lagos Governor and Visitor to Lagos State University (LASU), Babajide Sanwo-Olu, addressed 20,604 graduands during the 29th and 30th combined convocation ceremonies held at the Buba Marwa Auditorium, LASU Main Campus, Ojo. This event marked Sanwo-Olu's sixth and final convocation as Visitor.

He encouraged the graduands from the 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 academic sessions to utilize their knowledge, character, and courage to address societal challenges. Sanwo-Olu emphasized that their achievements would be judged by their contributions rather than their alma mater.

The graduating class was noted as the largest in LASU's history, including 3,383 postgraduate students and 238 Doctor of Philosophy graduates. He acknowledged 494 graduands who achieved First Class honours, with Ayilara Lawal Olawale and Adebanjo Samuel Oluolamide achieving GPAs of 4.96 and 4.97, respectively.

Sanwo-Olu reflected on LASU's growth since its establishment, highlighting its ranking as the best state university in Nigeria and its recognition in various academic metrics.
