Sanwo-Olu Awards N20m to LASU's Best Graduates

On Wednesday, during the 29th and 30th combined convocation ceremonies at Lagos State University (LASU), Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu announced cash gifts of N20 million each for the two overall best graduating students. Ayilara Lawal Olawale from the Department of Project Management achieved a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.96, making him the top student for the 2024/2025 academic session.

Adebanjo Samuel Oluolamide, who graduated from the Department of Aerospace Engineering, recorded a CGPA of 4.97, earning him the title of overall best graduating student for the 2025/2026 academic session. Jubril Gawat, Senior Special Assistant on New Media to Governor Sanwo-Olu, confirmed the announcement via a post on X, stating that the governor approved the cash gifts for the award-winning graduates.

The recognition of these students was a significant highlight of the convocation ceremonies.
