Student Testifies Against Lecturer for Alleged Rape

Owonifari Fiyinfoluwa, a 20-year-old undergraduate at the University of Lagos, testified in the Lagos State High Court, Ikeja, regarding an alleged rape incident involving Dr. Samuel Obinna Ojogbo, a 53-year-old lecturer.

The incident reportedly occurred on August 22, 2025, at approximately 12:00 PM in Dr. Ojogbo's underground office on the Akoka campus.

Fiyinfoluwa recounted that after an invitation to his office, Dr. Ojogbo forcibly touched her breasts and had sexual intercourse with her without her consent.

She stated that he had promised to supervise her final year project and provided her with his contact number. Following the incident, Fiyinfoluwa reported the matter to Mr.

Abu, who is her uncle and the head of the department. The charges against Dr.

Ojogbo include rape and sexual assault, punishable under sections 260 and 263(1) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, Nigeria, 2015.
