Two Killed in Oshodi-Apapa Road Collision

On Thursday, early in the morning, a tragic collision occurred on the Oshodi-Apapa Expressway, resulting in the deaths of two individuals. The incident involved a truck marked T 392 LA, which was reportedly approached by a tout attempting to extort money from the driver.

The driver, unable to stop due to high speed, crashed into a stationary vehicle, crushing the tout beneath it. The scene was described as chaotic, with bystanders rushing to assist the trapped driver, who was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Olalekan Bakar Oki, the General Manager of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), confirmed that the collision involved two fully laden 40-foot container trucks. The driver of the truck was identified as a suspect miscreant, whose identity was not immediately established.

Emergency services, including LASTMA and the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), conducted a meticulous recovery operation, while the Nigeria Police Force ensured perimeter control. An investigation has been initiated to determine the immediate cause of the incident.
