Truck Accident on Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway Kills Three

On Friday, around 2:00 PM, a serious accident occurred at the Toll Gate area of the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway, leading to the deaths of three people, including a toddler. The articulated truck, identified as a white Howo Sino truck with registration number T4995LA, reportedly suffered brake failure, causing it to collide with several vehicles.

The Ogun State Traffic Compliance Enforcement Agency's spokesperson, Babatunde Akinbiyi, confirmed that a total of 15 people were involved in the accident, with six sustaining various degrees of injuries. Eyewitnesses reported that the truck failed to stop and crushed commuters attempting to board damaged buses along its path.

Akinbiyi expressed condolences to the families of the victims and urged operators of articulated vehicles to maintain their vehicles regularly to prevent similar tragedies. He also advised traders to keep walkways clear to minimize hazards for commuters.
