Fatal Truck Collision Claims Two Lives on Abeokuta Expressway in Ogun State

Two people, an adult male and female, lost their lives in a tragic collision between two trucks on the Abeokuta-Igboora Expressway in Ogun State. The accident occurred at the Alamutu section of the expressway.

According to Babatunde Akinbiyi, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency, the collision was caused by one of the trucks running into a pothole, leading to a head-on collision with the other truck. The vehicles involved were identified as a white unregistered Volvo truck and an unregistered Cabstar mini-truck.

The impact of the collision at high speed resulted in the fatalities. Four individuals, including three males and one female, were involved in the crash, with two fatalities and the others escaping uninjured.

The deceased were presumed dead and were removed for burial according to Islamic rites. This incident occurred shortly after another accident in Lagos where a plywood-laden truck killed three pedestrians.

The Lagos incident involved a Scania truck with registration number GGE 681 XD that experienced brake failure and collided with pedestrians.
