Truck Accident on Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway Kills Three

On Friday, a fatal accident occurred at approximately 2 PM on the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway, involving an articulated truck that suffered brake failure. The truck, identified as a white Howo Sino truck with the number plate T4995LA, crashed into several vehicles, including two yellow commercial buses with number plates SMK 199YK and AGL394YA, as well as other vehicles.

Eyewitness reports indicate that the truck rammed into passengers waiting to board at a bus stop, leading to the deaths of three individuals: a toddler and two adults. Six additional people sustained varying degrees of injury, bringing the total number of individuals involved in the accident to fifteen.

Babatunde Akinbiyi, a spokesperson for the Ogun State Traffic Compliance Enforcement Agency, expressed condolences to the families of the deceased and emphasized the importance of proper vehicle maintenance. This incident follows a similar accident two weeks prior, where six people lost their lives at the same toll gate.
