Lagos Police Detain Officers Over Viral Harassment Video

The Lagos State Police Command has detained four officers who were featured in a viral video allegedly harassing a young man in the Odoguyan area of Ikorodu. The command's spokesperson, SP Abimbola Adebisi, announced this in a statement on October 25.
The officers were identified as members of a tactical team operating in the area after an investigation into the video. They were summoned to meet with the Commissioner of Police, Mr Fatai Tijani, on the same day, where the decision to detain them was made.
Adebisi stated that the officers would be held for further inquiries and would face appropriate disciplinary action for their alleged misconduct. She emphasized that the command would not tolerate any misconduct or impunity among its personnel, regardless of their rank or assignment.
Tijani had previously instructed officers to perform their duties with integrity and humility upon assuming office.
