Lakowe Lake Golf Club Hosts West African Golf Qualifier

The Lakowe Lake Golf Club in Nigeria is set to host a qualifying school for West African golfers from April 13 to April 15, organized in collaboration with the Sunshine Development Tour. This 54-hole competition will feature professional golfers from across West and Central Africa, including participants from Ghana, Cameroon, Côte d'Ivoire, Gabon, and the host nation, Nigeria.

The event is expected to provide a major boost to the development of professional golf in the region, as emphasized by Femi Olagbenro, the golf manager at Lakowe. He noted that the tournament represents a significant opportunity for players to advance their professional careers and aims to establish the qualifying school as a permanent fixture in the club's calendar.

The initiative is part of a broader vision to elevate the standards and visibility of professional golf in West Africa, opening doors to global opportunities for players.
