Lamido Defends PDP Amid Malami's Corruption Claims

Sule Lamido, the former governor of Jigawa State, has responded to allegations of corruption against the People's Democratic Party (PDP) made by former Attorney General Abubakar Malami. In an interview, Lamido recalled Malami's tenure as Attorney General, during which he initiated legal proceedings against him. Lamido questioned Malami's integrity, citing a past accusation of theft related to a hotel in Birnin Kudu. He dismissed calls for him to leave the PDP, emphasizing the importance of political loyalty and relationships within the party, particularly in contrast to the All Progressives Congress (APC). Lamido referenced the political movement of former Kano State governor Ibrahim Shekarau, who met with President Bola Tinubu, to illustrate his point. He expressed frustration over ongoing legal cases that have lasted over ten years, alleging they are politically motivated to block his ambitions during former President Goodluck Jonathan's administration. Lamido reaffirmed his commitment to the PDP, prioritizing principles over personal interests.
