LASEMA Responds to Lagos Fires, No Casualties Recorded

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) reported two separate fire incidents in Lagos, specifically in Igando and Anifowoshe, Ikeja, with no casualties recorded. The first fire occurred at approximately 7:37 PM on Sunday at 23 Shaba Ojo Street, Igando, caused by an electrical surge in an unoccupied two-bedroom flat.

LASEMA's Dolphin Team, in collaboration with the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, contained the fire and prevented it from spreading to other apartments, completing operations by 8:24 PM. The second incident was reported at 11:30 PM at 61 Abeokuta Street, Anifowoshe, Ikeja, where a fire engulfed a two-bedroom flat on the top floor of a storey building, also due to an electrical surge from an air-conditioning unit.

The Tiger Squad of LASEMA worked with the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service to confine and extinguish the fire. LASEMA reiterated its commitment to disaster risk reduction and prompt emergency response across Lagos.
