LASEMA Denies Reports of Building Collapse in Lagos

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) has officially debunked reports circulating on social media regarding a building collapse in the Alakija area of Lagos State. Dr.

Olufemi Okosanyintolu, the Permanent Secretary of LASEMA, issued a statement on Thursday describing the reports as false and misleading. Upon receiving the information, LASEMA promptly deployed personnel to the alleged incident location for assessment.

Following a thorough evaluation of the area, no evidence of a building collapse was found. Okosanyintolu emphasized the importance of residents verifying information before sharing it, warning that false emergency reports could divert critical resources and delay responses to genuine emergencies.

This clarification comes in the wake of a recent incident where a two-story building collapsed in the community, resulting in nine fatalities and 27 injuries, prompting a massive multi-agency rescue operation over the past two days.
