LASIEC Initiates Post-Election Audit for 2025 Local Government Polls in Lagos State

The Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) has commenced a post-election audit of the 2025 local government polls in Lagos State, aiming to implement electoral reforms. The audit, launched during a two-day strategic retreat in Ikeja, seeks to evaluate LASIEC's performance, identify operational gaps, and prioritize technology-driven solutions for future elections.

LASIEC Chair, Justic Bola Okikiolu Ighil, emphasized the need for honest self-assessment and institutional learning to enhance the electoral process. The retreat highlighted a significant increase in voter turnout to 24%, indicating progress in grassroots democracy.

LASIEC plans to sustain this momentum and address administrative challenges for future elections.
