Foundation Urges EBSIEC for Credible Local Elections

The Leadership Salt Family Foundation, represented by Comrade Ez Oko, Hon Nwangel Nnanna, Comrade Igiri Innoc, and Barrister Chibuik Ezennabik, has called on the Ebonyi State Independent Electoral Commission (EBSIEC) to conduct free, fair, and credible local government elections in Ebonyi State. The foundation expressed concerns over the quality of leadership in local government areas, advocating for democratic processes rather than imposed leadership.

They plan to write to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to prevent the release of irregular voter registrations. The foundation aims to ensure that the elections reflect the will of the people, urging political parties to adhere to fair play and denounce electoral malpractices such as violence and ballot box snatching.

They also emphasized the importance of security personnel remaining neutral during the elections to protect voters and maintain law and order. The foundation has mobilized volunteers across 171 electoral wards in 13 local government areas to monitor the elections.
