LASTMA Enhances Emergency Response with Digital Technology

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), under the leadership of General Manager Olalekan Bakar, has deployed advanced digital technology to significantly enhance its emergency response operations. This initiative was noted during a comprehensive operational review conducted over the weekend.

The agency has integrated modern technological tools, including surveillance drones and traffic management systems, to drastically improve incident detection and coordination efficiency. The implementation of a centralized command control center and automated incident detection systems aims to eliminate operational challenges that previously caused delays in reporting and logistics.

The new system allows for real-time monitoring and rapid communication with nearby patrol and rescue units. Additionally, LASTMA has introduced predictive data analytics to proactively manage traffic by analyzing congestion patterns and identifying high-risk accident corridors.

This strategic deployment of personnel ahead of peak traffic periods is intended to prevent disruptions and reduce casualty rates, reaffirming LASTMA's commitment to public safety in Lagos State.
