LASTMA Enhances Traffic Operations for Easter Safety

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has announced the intensification of traffic operations during the Easter period, deploying additional personnel and critical logistics across Lagos State. General Manager Olalekan Bakar Oki issued a strong advisory urging motorists and road users to exercise heightened caution and strictly adhere to traffic regulations throughout the festive period.

Oki warned against dangerous driving habits, including driving under the influence of alcohol, excessive speed, reckless overtaking, and unsafe practices that could lead to accidents and loss of lives and property. He noted that the Easter celebrations increase pressure on the state’s transport network, making responsible road use critical.

LASTMA has strategically deployed expanded operational teams to key traffic corridors, transport hubs, business districts, recreational centers, and religious venues. The agency has also strengthened its operational capacity by deploying high and medium-capacity tow trucks and essential traffic management equipment.

Oki reaffirmed LASTMA's commitment to safeguarding lives and ensuring seamless mobility during the festive season.
