Mother and Son Survive SUV Accident in Lagos Traffic

A serious traffic accident involving a Lexus SUV occurred early Wednesday morning along the LASU-Isheri Expressway in Lagos, resulting in the vehicle overturning multiple times. The incident involved a mother and her son, who were extricated from the severely damaged vehicle with visible bruises and mild physiological trauma.

Taofiq Adebayo, Director of Public Affairs at LASTMA, confirmed that the Lexus SUV, traveling inward Igando, suddenly lost stability, leading to the somersaulting of the vehicle amid heavy peak hour traffic. LASTMA operatives swiftly mobilized to the scene to coordinate the rescue operation.

The Nigeria Police Force was also present to ensure crowd control and safety at the accident scene. Family members of the victims arrived shortly after the incident to convey the injured mother and child for further medical evaluation.

LASTMA emphasized the importance of adhering to speed limits and conducting routine mechanical checks to prevent such accidents.
