LASTMA Rescues Two from Multi-Vehicle Crash in Lagos

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) rescued two individuals trapped in a multi-vehicle crash on the motorway towards the toll gate corridor in Ogudu, Lagos. The incident involved a 12-tyre DAF articulated truck and a Volkswagen T4 bus with registration number AA 60 YF.

Preliminary investigations indicated that the commercial bus somersaulted and collided, trapping its driver and a passenger inside the wreckage, which caused significant obstruction on the roadway. LASTMA personnel, who were conducting routine traffic surveillance in the area, responded immediately to the emergency, successfully extricating the trapped victims and ensuring they received urgent medical treatment from the Lagos State Ambulance Service.

The agency emphasized its commitment to preserving human life and enhancing public safety through effective traffic management. The scene was secured to protect emergency personnel and road users, with the Nigeria Police Force providing crowd control.

Traffic congestion caused by the incident was alleviated as LASTMA officials evacuated the damaged vehicles and implemented traffic control measures.
