LASU Ends Strike, Announce Resumption Of Academic Activities

LASU has ended its strike, announcing the resumption of academic activities after the Joint Action Committee (JAC) representing university staff unions withdrew the strike. The decision was made following a meeting led by the Lagos State Deputy Governor on August 7, with the LASU Senate adopting the resolution to resume activities.

The university's Deputy Registrar and PR Coordinator, Oluwayemisi, confirmed the decision, emphasizing the need for unity to improve the university's reputation. The strike involved academic employees across various levels and was led by the JAC, comprising ASUU, SSANU, NASU, and NAAT.

The staff had made demands for improved welfare, bonuses, promotions, and timely salary allowances, which led to the strike. The unions vowed to return to work once their demands are met.
