LASU Graduate David Akinwunmi Wins CAD $45,000 Scholarship

David Akinwunmi, a recent graduate from the Faculty of Law at Lagos State University (LASU), has been awarded two scholarships totaling approximately CAD $45,000 to pursue graduate studies at the University of Victoria in British Columbia, Canada. The scholarships include the Faculty of Graduate Studies Scholarship and the Law Foundation Scholarship.

Akinwunmi has commenced his studies, focusing on a comparative analysis of Nigerian and Canadian tax law and tax administration. His research aims to explore how indigenous tax principles can be integrated into broader fiscal frameworks and to identify culturally acceptable tax administration approaches that could enhance voluntary compliance among Nigerian citizens.

Distinguished Olatunji-Bello, the Vice-Chancellor of LASU, publicly congratulated Akinwunmi, highlighting his achievement as a reflection of the quality of legal education at the university and the diligence of its students. She expressed pride in Akinwunmi's accomplishments and wished him a successful academic journey.
