CLE Approves 5 Universities for Law Programs by 2026
The Council of Legal Education (CLE) has approved five universities to commence Law programs beginning with the 2026/2027 academic session. The approved institutions are Amadeus University in Abia State, Akwa Ibom State University, European University of Nigeria in Abuja, Oduduwa University in Ipetu-Modu, Osun State, and Peaceland University in Enugu State.
Each university has been allocated an initial quota of 50 students for their 100 level intake. Additionally, the council has placed Atiba University under a 10-year moratorium due to breaches of its regulatory requirements.
These decisions were made during the council's third-quarter hybrid meeting held on August 13 at the Nigerian Law School headquarters in Bwari, Abuja, and were communicated via a statement by Aderonke Osho, the secretary to the council and director of administration.
