Auriana Lazraq-Khlass Suspended for Anti-Doping Violations

Auriana Lazraq-Khlass, a French heptathlete, has been provisionally suspended by the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) for failing to comply with anti-doping whereabouts regulations. According to the World Anti-Doping Code, athletes are not allowed to miss three anti-doping tests within a 12-month period.

Lazraq-Khlass, aged 26, won a silver medal at the European Championships held in Rome in 2024. Following the charges upheld against her, she faces a potential two-year ban.

The provisional suspension means that she is barred from participating in any competitive activities until a final decision is reached regarding her case. This situation follows a recent case involving former world 100m champion Fred Kerley, who also faced a two-year ban for similar whereabouts failures.
