Minister Tunji-Ojo Advocates for Future-Focused Leadership

During a graduation ceremony for the AIG Public Leader Programme, Minister Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo called on senior public servants across Africa to adopt reforms that enhance governance. He highlighted that the true essence of public service in Africa lies in prioritizing long-term benefits over immediate gains.

Tunji-Ojo noted that Africa's most valuable resource is its people and stressed the need for public service leadership to ensure decisions advantage future generations. He further addressed the inefficiencies within public institutions, which must be overcome to tackle challenges such as underdevelopment, insecurity, and economic hardship.

The ceremony celebrated the graduation of 69 senior officials from seven African nations, underscoring the critical need for leaders committed to reforming Africa's public institutions. Additionally, AIG's Aigboj Aig Imoukhued emphasized the importance of nurturing leaders who possess a profound understanding of systems and the necessity of compromise to initiate reforms.
