On Wednesday 3 June 2026, Nigeria's House of Representatives had a packed agenda covering the re-examination of two university establishment bills, a proposal for an agricultural processing hub in Kaduna State, and petitions involving Airtel Networks and Access Bank. On education, lawmakers moved to rescind earlier decisions on two bills — one to establish a Federal University of Technology in Kaduna (HB. 18, passed October 2025) and another in Yaba (HB. 1910, passed December 2025). A technical and legal review found that certain clauses needed fixing before the bills could work properly. Both were sent back to the Committee of the Whole for fresh consideration. A separate bill to establish a Federal University of Technology in Babura, Jigawa State (HB. 1901) was also listed for consideration following a committee report.
On agriculture, a motion was tabled urging the federal government to establish an agro-processing and manufacturing hub in Farakwai–Zangon Aya, Igabi Federal Constituency, Kaduna State. The motion noted that over 60% of farm harvests in the area are lost yearly due to lack of storage and processing. It called on relevant ministries, the Bank of Agriculture, Bank of Industry, and NIRSAL to act within set timeframes.
On petitions, the House considered complaints against Airtel Networks Ltd over a disputed land transaction in Rivers State, and a separate petition against Access Bank PLC.
