Joseph Ikpea of Edo Central drew attention to worsening gully erosion across Esan Land, citing specific sites in Esan Central, Esan West, and Ekpoma where roads, farmlands, and university infrastructure are being destroyed. The Senate resolved to urge the Ecological Fund Office, NEMA, NEWMAP, and the Federal Ministry of Environment to begin urgent assessments and interventions.
