Deacon Shola Mese Named AACT Ambassador for 2026

The Ladi Golf Association Nigeria (LGAN) has appointed Deacon Shola Mese as the ambassador for the 2026 All Africa Challenge Trophy (AACT). This recognition acknowledges Mese's contributions to golf development and women's empowerment.

Mese serves as the vice-captain of the Ogunu Golf Club in Warri, Delta State, and is the founder of the Shola Mese Foundation. The announcement was made during a visit to LGAN President Dr.

Lami Onayi Ahm in Abuja. Dr.

Ahm described the AACT as a significant platform for promoting women's golf across Africa, with the tournament scheduled to take place in Abuja from November 2-7, 2026, and participation from 30 countries anticipated. Dr.

Ahm emphasized the importance of Mese's appointment in inspiring golfers and attracting key stakeholders to strengthen Nigeria's presence in continental golf competitions. Mese expressed gratitude for the recognition and pledged to support the tournament's success, highlighting her commitment to the development of women's golf.
