Nigeria to Host 2027 Africa Beach Volleyball Championship

Nigeria will host the 2027 Africa Beach Volleyball Championship in Lagos, as announced by Mustapha Berraf, the President of the Nigeria Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC). This decision is part of Nigeria's strategic efforts to position itself as a leading sports nation in Africa, following the signing of a host rights agreement.

The National Sports Commission (NSC), led by Chairman Mallam Shehu Dikko and Director General Hon Bukola Olopad, expressed pride in strengthening collaboration with continental bodies. The award of hosting rights reflects Nigeria's impressive track record in hosting major international sports events.

Additionally, discussions are underway regarding Nigeria's role in hosting Africa's Olympic qualifying event for the 2030 Olympic Games, aimed at reducing travel needs for African countries to Europe for qualification. This initiative aligns with the NSC's mandate to drive sports development and boost the country's sports economy.
