Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are poised to share the same pitch as teammates for the first time, thanks to Carlos Tevez, who is organizing a retirement match. The event is expected to take place in December 2025, likely over the weekend of December 12 and 13, with potential adjustments to December 18 or 19 if Argentine domestic fixtures conflict.

Tevez has been in discussions with Boca Juniors management at the Bombonera and plans to invite approximately 60 players for the occasion. Tevez has a personal connection to both Messi, with whom he played in the Argentina national team, and Ronaldo, with whom he shared seasons at Manchester United.

Tevez has expressed this ambition since April 2025. Messi, now 39, recently announced his retirement from international football, while Ronaldo is anticipated to retire next year, making this event particularly significant as the opportunity for both legends to play together diminishes.
