Lionel Richie Hospitalized After St. Louis Concert

Lionel Richie was admitted to an intensive care unit in St. Louis, Missouri, following his performance at The Muny outdoor theatre on Saturday, August 29, 2023. A source from his touring team informed ABC News that Richie sought medical attention as a precaution after the concert.

TMZ reported that doctors were investigating whether he experienced slight dehydration, although no official diagnosis has been confirmed by his representatives. Eyewitnesses noted that Richie appeared to struggle towards the end of his set, requesting a chair during his closing number, "All Night Long," yet he completed the performance before heading to the hospital.

This incident is not the first health scare for Richie during his tour; in June, he had to step off stage in St. Paul, Minnesota, due to feeling dizzy and unwell, which led to the postponement of two shows. He is currently on tour with Earth, Wind & Fire as part of the Sing a Song All Night Long tour, with his next performance scheduled for September 26 in Francisco.
