NAS Hosts Reading Clinic for GSS Gwarinpa Students

The National Association of Seadogs (NAS), also known as the Pyrates Confraternity, organized a "Reading Clinic" for students at Government Secondary School (GSS), Gwarinpa, Abuja, to celebrate World Literacy Day 2026 and the 60th anniversary of NAS. The event, themed “Literacy for People, the Planet and Prosperity,” included guided reading, book discussions, and motivational talks.
Barrister Adie Aplife, the Capoon of Galleon Bay Deck, urged students to prioritize reading, promising rewards for those who read the most books by term's end. Mr Samuel Abhulimen, a senior member of NAS, emphasized the importance of reading for future success.
Mr Abubakar Ajayi, Principal of GSS Gwarinpa, welcomed the partnership with NAS, viewing it as a mentorship opportunity. To promote a lasting reading culture, NAS donated 40 age-appropriate novels to the school, received by Vice Principal Mr Atsi Samuel, encouraging students to integrate reading into their daily learning.
