NAS and Thompson Henry Foundation Launch Scholarships in Mpape

The National Association of Seadogs (NAS), also known as pyrates confraternity, Galleon Bay Deck, Abuja, in partnership with the Thompson Henry Legacy Foundation, launched a scholarship program for indigent and out-of-school children in Mpape community, Abuja, to mark the 2026 World Literacy Day. This initiative aims to provide comprehensive academic scholarships covering education from primary school to tertiary institution for selected beneficiaries.

A community sensitization program and scholarship screening exercise were conducted to identify five indigent children aged six to ten who are currently out of school due to financial constraints. The screening began with an enlightenment session at the palace of the District Head of Mpape, where the objectives were explained.

MacDonald Ekemezie, the Second Mate of the Deck, emphasized the initiative's goal of providing quality education to disadvantaged children. The Headmistress of LEA Primary School, Mrs. Esther Bulus, praised the organizations for their commitment to educational development.

The District Head of Mpape, HRH Musa Pada, expressed gratitude for the support and urged parents to ensure their children remain committed to their studies.
